We have been to quite a few waterfalls in our travels so
far, each one pretty cool and unique.
On our way to Cairns we stopped at
Josephine Falls
The lovely stairway back to the really rough track... |
These were both stemming from Mt Bartle Frere the tallest
mountain peak in QLD.
whoops...for some reason this one wont rotate ;-/ |
The Boulders falls were near Babinda, really nice long walk beside a pretty awesome waterway with rock pool, pretty cool big rocks,
and waterfalls, looked like prime platypus territory, so I spent quite some time searching for
them…only to find…nothing! Oh well… next time my little platys..next time. You can swim if you dont mind the crocs in the first part of the river but then it gets really really swift and there were lots and lots of warnings and a plaque in memory of a tourist who didnt heed the signs...or so it says?? Oh and we found out you can camp for free at the Boulders which would have been nice but we kept on heading up to Cairns
perfect platypus territory...im sure they were in there! |
not much water in there at the moment but it looked like it would be awesome in the wet! |
The forest was so thick on the track to the waterfalls that George did his best Gorillas in the Mist impersonation! |
Ok so we are getting pretty obsessed by paroramic....oh and selective colour..but you will see those later on ;-) |
Off to Cairns…
