Bulls Bulls and More Bulls...Around Rocky

Well we are finally back into civilisation, well at least back to a powered site which means I can catch up on my blogging!

Bull Spotting in Rockhampton!

Everyone knows about the Big Bull as you go into Rocky, but there are 6 big bulls in total...and heaps and heaps of smaller bulls, which all have fantastic names on them like 'entertain-a-bull' 'insur-a-bull'

So we found 21 bulls in total...and Im not even sure that we got them all! So after our bit of fun bull hunting we headed off to the coast and Yepoon.

Whilst cruising around Yepoon searching for a mini putt putt that we had heard about, another unknown big thing appeared..
I said "George pull over there is a giant whale!" and he said to me yeah yeah I saw a sign for the crystal whale...its just a place.. "No pull over! Your missing it!" and he says to me, I cant see what your talking about...But there hidden amoungst the trees...

he was pretty run down and there were really wierd things in glass jars in cabinets inside..but Im glad we stumbled across him!
Rocky it would seem is the home of bulls and pubs...There was one on every corner! We went to the famous Criterion, and O'somethings Irish Pub and finally we headed to The Great Western Hotel for a show... The Great Western is famous for having a mini rodeo twice a week inside the pub! Was pretty cool...literally and figuratively! They also have gross bulls heads hanging on the walls....

as you can see I am impressed at having to pose with dead cows!

And then, after much debate we ventured out to THE BIG DUGONG..we had been hanging out for this for quite sometime but when we got to Rocky we couldnt find it, then when we finally did...it was in the Dreamtime Aboriginal Museum, in the Torres Strait Islander section...and it cost $15.50 each! The first big thing we have paid for!!!

He was pretty impressive, so I guess worth the dinner that we couldnt have out to pay for it!

Doing some 'booomer'ang' throwing

George was so fast at it I couldnt catch it on film! The guide was so impressed by Georges strength, he had to move him away from the fences! ahahaha
On a final note!....George doing the dishes....!!!
(he asked that I take this photo to prove that he did do the dishes at least once)

And now off to Carmila Beach!
