Magnetic Island (Maggie)

A day trip to Maggie...

When on Maggie you must hire a topless mighty boy, a suzuki sierra or.. A MINI MOKE...which would you choose???

So we got ourselves a speedy fast red moke...I drove as George has done all the driving so far...

I parked it and we went for a walk, when we got back George wanted a drive....

mmmm...something changed you say??? George broke the red one, we had to go back and swap it for a fun yellow one!

George relegated to being chauffeured around!
Stopped off at Horseshoe beach for a quick walk and a bite to eat the Marlin Bar...awesome food by the way and MASSIVE serves!

And who was eating across from us at the Marlin Bar?...Georges best mate! Jonathon Thurston, and he was nice enought to pose for a photo for us before going and playing some beach footy with his nephew

Then off for a bit more exploring...

was a little worried when I saw this sign, Moke brakes were not the best, if it even had brakes... :-/
We then went for a walk to the forts used by the defence forces in WW2...

Good to see that I wear appropriate hiking shoes...

Finally found my BATS!! yay! so cute!

going up the very steep ladder that is on the top of a two story barracks which is ontop of a mountain!
We had a great time at Magnetic Island and would have love to have spent more time there and possibly done a few scuba dives here as I heard later on, that the SS Yongala which is round the corner is one of the worlds best dives!...
