15 days out....

15 days till we hit the road,

Picked up the camper! Flew home from Brisbane to get it registered and put it up!.... The camper has a main room which is huge and then an additional annexe in which the tailgate kitchen opens into, with optional walls and floor! Main room is quite simple to put up but the annexe has us all going...alas we are not fluent in Chinglish and had to wing it a bit! Annexe took several disagreements, 1 hour, 4 people and a few re-designs...I am SURE we will get better at this...NOTE TO SELF....DO NOT FORGET TO PACK A MILKCRATE...there is no way that I will ever reach the tallest poles.

seasoned/weathered the cavas with little to no leaking whatsoever which is very assuring!

Still have some wiring up to do and to do a practice setup with fridge, pantry etc.

Last few weeks are going very quickly! We would be totally lost without the awesome help of our families, especially my brother Steven! Thanks for all your wiring and extra help!

Introductions please...

Hello and welcome to the diary of our travels around Australia for the next year...or years...or forever...

WE are...
Sherii and George, 32 and 27yrs....
An intrepid florist and an adventurous Carpet Cleaner/Pest controller in search of the best Australia has to offer!
No experience with camper trailers but we are enthusiastic, quick learners...Im sure watching us learn all we need to know, will be very entertaining! :-)

Our trusty car and trailer...
Our car is a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder R51, we call him Magnum (cause his factory colour is blue steel...its a zoolander thing)  :-)
Magnum is kitted out for the adventure with:
Factory bullbar
Driving lights
Safari Snorkel
CB UHF -- Catch us on channel 18 or 40
Electric Brake Controller
Airbags in the back coils (bttp://www.airbagman.com.au)
Dual battery sytem
Roof racks with Thule box
Polyblock hitch for our trailer.

Our camper trailer is an off-road MDC Gal Extreme: (called PI cause what else comes after Magnum!)

Extra battery systems that connects to the car and/or
180W solar panel
80L Waco Fridge/Freezer
Fully wired 12V system (both anderson and cigarette style) to house our small TV, laptop, phones, lights etc...

I am sure that we will add as we go and find out what works with our setup....

Where we plan to go...
We plan to pretty much circumnavigate Australia, roughly anti-clockwise with a few regular detours into the centre....

So keep up with our travels and let us know if your about and we could meet up!
